1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember things between pages and visits — such as your preferences. Similar technologies (like localStorage) store data in your browser for the same purposes; we refer to all of them together as “cookies” in this policy.
2. Our approach
We keep this simple. Threnly uses only essential cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising or retargeting pixels, social-media trackers, or session-replay tools by default. We do not sell your data.
3. Cookies we use
3.1 Strictly necessary
- Consent preference (
threnly_consent/threnly:consent:v1) — remembers whether you accepted or rejected non-essential cookies, so we don’t ask again. Stored for up to 12 months. No personal data; not shared. - Security & delivery — our host (Netlify) may set short-lived cookies needed to serve the site securely and balance load. These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off.
3.2 Optional (only if you accept)
At present we run no optional cookies. If we ever introduce privacy- respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful, it will load only after you accept on the consent banner, and we will update this policy first. Until then, choosing “Accept” or “Reject non-essential” simply records your preference for any future optional cookies.
4. Managing your choices
- On this site — use the consent banner shown on your first visit. To change your choice later, clear this site’s cookies and site data in your browser and reload; the banner will reappear.
- In your browser — all major browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
5. Third-party links
Our site may link to external sites (for example, our parent agency, Cipher Shift). We are not responsible for the cookie practices of those sites — please review their own policies.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if our use of cookies changes. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed. If we add any non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent before they load.
